Stepping Into Confidence

We are deeply grateful to Subaru of Baton Rouge and Operation Warm for their generous donation of 132 brand-new pairs of shoes and socks for the young people we serve. What may seem like a simple gift became something much more powerful for our Little Buddies. One moment that truly stood out was a child who immediately put on their new socks and shoes and could not stop smiling at their feet. That pride lasted well beyond the distribution day, the very next morning, students arrived at school excited to show off their new shoes, walking a little taller and a little more confident. As parents and caregivers know, keeping up with the needs of growing children is not easy. This gift meant relief for families, dignity for our youth, and a boost of confidence that directly impacts how a child feels walking into a classroom. What made the day especially meaningful was the care shown by the Subaru of Baton Rouge team members who came to personally distribute the shoes. They didn't simply hand out boxes, they knelt down, asked each child about their favorite colors, patiently swapped sizes or styles (sometimes more than once!), and made sure every child felt seen and heard. The experience was thoughtful, joyful, and full of genuine connection. Our youth didn't feel like they were receiving a handout; they felt chosen. For Big Buddy, having Subaru employees present as caring Mentors allowed our team to focus on logistics while knowing each child was receiving individualized attention. It transformed distribution into an experience rooted in pride and encouragement. This was our first time participating in this partnership, and we sincerely hope it is the beginning of a long-lasting relationship. The impact of those 132 pairs of shoes will continue far beyond distribution day, in classrooms, on playgrounds, and in the confidence our children carry with them each day. We are truly thankful for Subaru's investment in the well-being and success of our youth.

Twelve Feet to Safety

On June 5th, my family and I lived through the scariest night of our lives. We had spent the weekend at our camp on the river, celebrating for the Fourth of July. What was supposed to be a peaceful getaway turned into something out of a nightmare. Around 11:30 PM, my husband heard a loud explosion. At first, he didn’t know what it was—but seconds later, he realized his truck was engulfed in flames… and it was parked directly beneath our raised camp. He rushed downstairs, only to find the wooden stairway already catching fire. In a desperate attempt to save us, he suffered severe burns on his back climbing back up through the growing smoke and heat. Once inside, he was yelling frantically for me to wake up and get the kids. We had no time to spare. Our only escape was from our 12-foot-high balcony. Without hesitation, he jumped first. I quickly dropped down our two children into his arms before making the leap myself. We were terrified, shaken—but safe. That’s when we realized… our dog, our sweet 8-year-old family companion, was still inside. The flames were too intense to go back. We were devastated. In the days that followed, the emotional toll was heavy. But in that darkness, we saw a light: our community at Subaru of Baton Rouge. I reached out to my GM to explain what had happened, and the response was overwhelming. Everyone—from management to coworkers—reached out with compassion and support. My bosses were incredibly understanding as I took time to be with my family, and I’ll never forget the kindness they showed. Some coworkers donated clothes. Others gave money to help us get back on our feet. But above all, it was the compassion—the genuine care—that meant the most to us. This experience, though heartbreaking, reminded me of what it truly means to be part of a team. That’s what the Subaru Love Promise is really about. It’s people standing by you when it matters most. We’re still healing, still rebuilding—but we are not alone. And for that, I am endlessly grateful.

Subaru of Baton Rouge Teams Up to Support Local Community

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Baton Rouge, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Subaru of Baton Rouge is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Subaru of Baton Rouge have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 02/03/2025, Subaru of Baton Rouge donated 120 shoes/socks to The Salvation Army Baton Rouge Corps. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Growing Our Future

My family and I were so excited to be part of Subaru’s Arbor Day tree giveaway. As longtime nature lovers, it felt like the perfect way to give back to the environment while also creating a lasting memory for our family. Reserving our tree online was incredibly simple—just a few clicks and we were all set. When pickup day arrived, everything was seamless. The Subaru of Baton Rouge team greeted us with warm smiles and made the process a breeze. Before we knew it, we were heading home with a beautiful young Magnolia tree in the back of our car. We planted the Magnolia on the land where we’ll soon begin building our future home. It was more than just planting a tree—it was planting hope, growth, and the promise of a greener tomorrow. I can’t wait to watch our Magnolia thrive, and we’re already making plans to plant even more trees in the coming seasons. Thanks to Subaru of Baton Rouge, we’ve started a new tradition—one that grows stronger every year.

A Long Road of Kindness

On March 14th, 2025, our quiet little town of Des Arc, Missouri, was forever changed. A tornado swept through with a fury we could’ve never prepared for, leaving behind broken homes, broken hearts, and a sense of loss that’s hard to put into words. What was once familiar became unrecognizable. We were left with near to nothing—but not alone. In the days that followed, help came in ways we never expected. One of the brightest lights in that dark time was my sister, Esther. She works at Subaru of Baton Rouge, and without hesitation, she made the decision to drive 1,214 miles from Louisiana to Missouri—car full of hope, love, and supplies we desperately needed. But Esther didn’t come alone. She brought the spirit and generosity of the entire Subaru of Baton Rouge team with her. Together, they donated essentials—items that brought us comfort, relief, and a sense that we were seen and cared for. Their compassion reminded us that even in the worst moments, people will show up. To Esther and the incredible staff at Subaru of Baton Rouge: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness reached farther than you’ll ever know, and your generosity made a real difference in the lives of people you’ve never even met. In a time of loss, you gave us something to hold onto—hope.

Subaru Donates Socks & Shoes to The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge would like to thank you, Subaru of Baton Rouge, for your generous support and donation of new socks and shoes for the children in our community. The children were so excited to get new socks and shoes. They could not wait to put them on. They would sit down and take off their old socks and shoes and with a smile put on their brand-new socks and shoes. The smiles we saw were priceless from the children, but also from the parents. Several of the children’s socks and shoes were either too small or had holes in them. Some did not even have socks or tennis shoes. As parents, none of us want our children to have to endure this. There were so many testimonies of smiles, gratitude’s from parents and children, and a new look on life that came from these socks and shoes that some of us may see as a simple pair of shoes and socks that so many of us take for granted. So, to have a company like Subaru of Baton Rouge provide such a needed resource like socks and shoes, especially during the winter, is refreshing and uplifting. Again, thank you for your continued support in our community.

Junior Achievement and Subaru of Baton Rouge Educating Young Minds Through Financial Literacy

Subaru of Baton Rouge has played a pivotal role in fostering economic education among young students through its sponsorship of Junior Achievement (JA) Greater Baton Rouge. Their commitment to supporting students was particularly impactful during the school year, where they contributed to various educational initiatives. Subaru's involvement has been instrumental in promoting financial literacy and business concepts among elementary students, equipping them with essential skills for their future. Last fall, Subaru of Baton Rouge's sponsorship of the JA Kings of Swing event significantly benefited the Adopt-A-School program. This event was not only a fundraising success but also a testament to Subaru's dedication to community development and education. The funds raised enabled JA to expand its programs and reach more students, ensuring that financial education became accessible to a broader audience. Subaru's support has thus been crucial in strengthening the relationship between local businesses and educational initiatives. Throughout the past year, Subaru's sponsorship provided elementary students with a unique opportunity to engage with financial literacy and work-related concepts. JA mentors introduced these young learners to the basics of earning, saving, spending, and banking. The interactive sessions allowed students to gain a practical understanding of money management, which is often not covered in traditional classroom settings. Subaru's backing ensured that these valuable lessons were delivered effectively, making a lasting impression on the students. One of the highlights of the program was the students' experience of their first "job" at a simulated donut factory. This hands-on activity taught them about the realities of earning a paycheck and the concept of taxation. The excitement of getting paid for their work was tempered by the surprise of having to pay taxes, providing a real-world lesson in fiscal responsibility. Subaru of Baton Rouge's support made these educational experiences possible, helping to prepare the next generation for financial independence and success.

Subaru Baton Rouge sponsors Lyft Safe Ride Home at the 11th Annual Furball Gala

Ever seen dogs prance down the catwalk? The 11th annual Furball, Baton Rouge's premier pet-friendly gala, was held on April 13th at L'Auberge Hotel & Casino. Subaru customer, Marie Pontti and her larger than life Black Labrador, BEAR, were asked to be on the Royal Furball Court this year along with nine other pups and their owners. The Furball is an annual fundraiser benefitting Companion Animal Alliance, Louisiana's largest animal shelter. CAA helps spay, neuter, rescue, and find homes for over nine thousand animals each year. When Marie was asked to find sponsorship partners for the FURBALL gala, she immediately thought of Subaru Baton Rouge where she had recently purchased a Subaru Crosstrek for her daughter who is in college at LSU! Clearly, the most fitting sponsorship opportunity for Subaru Baton Rouge was the Safe Ride Home with Lyft. By sponsoring Safe Ride, Subaru Baton Rouge showed love for its community -not only by reducing the risk of drunk driving following the Furball; but also by helping Marie and Bear raise over thirty thousand dollars for Companion Animal Alliance! Several Subaru BR employees attended the Furball and cheered Marie and Bear down the runway to One Love by Bob Marley and Love Shack by the B-52. A fur-tastic (and SAFE) time was had by all! Ultimately, Bear became Prince of the Furball just behind King Roux Dog who raise $150 more than Bear. It was the closest competition for King the Furball has ever had! What a win-win for Companion Animal Alliance, the Baton Rouge community and Subaru! Thank you to Subaru for really stepping up to be part of caring for its community! And by the way, Marie feels very safe knowing her daughter drives the streets of BR in a Subaru Crosstrek!

Helping others when they need a friend

Stranded a mile away from the dealership, I had run out of gas, feeling a mix of frustration and helplessness. I decided to phone Kaci in hopes she could help. Without skipping a beat, Kaci reassured me she would find a gas can within the service department and would head to me as soon as possible. True to her word, Kaci wasted no time, texting me moments later to confirm she was en route. As her car pulled up beside mine, relief flooded over me. Together, we sprang into action, with one of us keeping a vigilant eye on passing cars while the other expertly refilled the gas tank. Yet, Kaci's kindness didn't end there. Once we deemed the tank sufficiently filled, Kaci insisted on accompanying me to the gas station to ensure I had enough fuel to reach a safe haven. It's moments like these that remind me of the profound beauty of true friendship. Thank you Kaci with Subaru of Baton Rouge I will see you at our next community event.

Subaru of Baton Rouge helps create Christmas magic at OLOL Children's Hospital

Once upon a time, in the heart of Baton Rouge, there was a magical place called Santa's Workshop. This enchanting workshop was not located in the North Pole, but rather at the Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, where some children and their families found themselves during the Christmas season. In this workshop, elves worked tirelessly to bring joy and happiness to the little ones who were spending their holidays in the hospital. The community of Baton Rouge, including Subaru of Baton Rouge, rallied together to support Santa's Workshop and bring smiles to the faces of these brave children. The generous team at Subaru of Baton Rouge decided to spread Christmas cheer by again donating toys to Santa's Workshop which provided toys for patients and their siblings who were experiencing a stay or visit within the hospital. The dealership collected toys from their customers, employees, and even the local community. People from all walks of life came together, each wanting to make a child's Christmas a little brighter. This collective effort touched the lives of hundreds of children and families, making their stay at the hospital a little more bearable during the holiday season.

2023 Companon Animal Alliance Beer Fest

In the heart of downtown Baton Rouge, under the scorching sun of a hot, sunny day, a crowd of over 400 people gathered for the highly anticipated 2023 Companion Animal Alliance Beer Fest. The event had drawn in more than 70 local businesses and breweries, all eager to support the local animal shelter while serving up their finest craft beers. The focal point of the event was the array of dog lovers who had brought their furry companions along. Dogs of all shapes and sizes roamed the venue, making new friends and enjoying the festivities. It was a joyous sight to see four-legged pals wagging their tails and frolicking about while their owners sampled the local brews. Amid the hubbub of the festival, the Subaru Booth stood out as a pet-friendly oasis. The friendly staff at the booth were quick to offer refreshments and toys to both two-legged and four-legged attendees. The star of the show was the Chew-Baru Dog toy, a clever play on Subaru's name, which proved to be an instant hit among the pups. To the delight of car enthusiasts, a gleaming 2024 Subaru Outback was parked on display, showcasing the latest in automotive innovation. Festival-goers had the opportunity to admire the vehicle's sleek design and cutting-edge features, all while sipping on cold beers and soaking up the lively atmosphere. The Subaru team didn't stop at showcasing their cars and dog toys. They also had a fun surprise in the form of stylish sunglasses that they handed out to the attendees. These shades not only added a touch of coolness to the festival-goers' outfits but also provided some much-needed shade on this scorching summer day. As the day turned into evening, the event continued to buzz with excitement. Laughter, clinking glasses, and the happy barks of dogs filled the air, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of camaraderie and support for a great cause. The 2023 Companion Animal Alliance Beer Fest was a day to remember, celebrating the bond between humans and their furry friends, while raising much-needed funds for the local animal shelter. It was an event that brought the community together, one beer, one smile, and one happy pup at a time.

Maddie's Footprints Second Annual Marathon

It was a day filled with hope, unity, and purpose as the community gathered for the Maddie's Footprints Second Annual Marathon. The event had grown significantly since its inception, with over 750 enthusiastic participants this year, and an incredible crowd of over 1000 people who had come to show their unwavering support. Maddie's Footprints, a local charity, was founded to help families who had experienced the heart-wrenching loss of a child. The marathon served as an opportunity for both healing and remembrance, giving those affected by the pain of loss a sense of belonging and support. Subaru of Baton Rouge had partnered with Maddie's Footprints to sponsor the marathon, providing essential support that ensured the event's success. Their commitment to the community was evident, as they had parked two of their signature vehicles near the marathon's starting line. These vehicles weren't just there for show; they were loaded with cases of bottled water, ready to quench the thirst of runners and supporters alike. Underneath a Subaru-branded tent, a photobooth was set up, with a vibrant backdrop of Maddie's Footprints logo and the marathon's date. This little corner quickly became a focal point of excitement, where runners, friends, and families captured the spirit of the event with photographs. Laughter and smiles abounded as people posed with props and signs that conveyed messages of love and solidarity. As the starting horn sounded, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, and the sea of runners surged forward. The route took them through the Pointe Marie neighborhood, past parks, beautiful homes and down streets lined with cheering supporters. Many runners wore matching shirts with the names of the children they had lost, turning the marathon into a poignant memorial for each child who had left their mark on their families' hearts. Throughout the course, Subaru of Baton Rouge volunteers were stationed at designated water stations, offering runners cold water to keep them hydrated and energized. The runners, with sweat on their brows and determination in their eyes, expressed their gratitude with smiles and heartfelt thanks. It was more than just water; it was a lifeline of support from a compassionate community and a local business dedicated to giving back. The marathon route looped back to the starting point, where the finish line awaited with open arms. The atmosphere was electric as the runners sprinted towards their final goal, cheered on by the ever-growing crowd of supporters. Medals were awarded to all participants, a symbol of their journey through the marathon and a reminder that, no matter how tough the road ahead, they could overcome. At the end of the marathon, as the last runner crossed the finish line, the sky turned a gentle shade of pink as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was a fitting conclusion to a day that had begun with hope, unity, and purpose. Subaru of Baton Rouge, with their water sponsorship and photobooth, had played an invaluable role in making the event a memorable and meaningful experience for all who attended. As the community dispersed, tired but inspired, they carried with them the memories of the Maddie's Footprints Second Annual Marathon and the knowledge that, with the support of one another and compassionate sponsors like Subaru of Baton Rouge, they could continue to heal and remember the precious children who had left their footprints on their hearts.

Subaru of Baton Rouge Pet Adoption 2023

It was a beautiful October morning in Baton Rouge, excitement filled the air on Saturday, October 21, 2023, as families from all around gathered at the Subaru of Baton Rouge dealership. The reason for their gathering was simple but heartwarming: a dog adoption event. The entire Subaru of Baton Rouge staff joined together to transform the dealership's parking lot was transformed into a family friendly paradise, complete with a mini “tent or treat”, car seat safety checks, a bubble machine and plenty of delicious jambalaya for all to enjoy! Subaru of Baton Rouge has had a love of animals since opening its doors in 2013, and the dealership is always looking for ways to give back to the community. So, when the idea of hosting a dog adoption event was born, it was an immediate hit among both the staff and the local community. The mini “tent or treat” was a hit. The St. George Fire Department handed out 6 pounds of candy to over 60 children. Families ran from one tent to another, filling their bags with candies and treats while giggling in delight. But the true stars of the event were the dogs. Many furry friends eagerly wagged their tails in anticipation, hoping to find their forever homes. Volunteers from local animal shelters were on hand to provide information, answer questions, and facilitate the adoption process. They had 3 local shelters; Companion Animal Alliance, Second Chance Dog Rescue, and Take Paws Rescue. Families of all sizes and configurations flocked to the adoption area, searching for the perfect addition to their households. Nine dogs found loving homes. The Sales Manager Kerry Beary rang the bell every time a pup was adopted and gifted each new pet parent with a bag of goodies. Jadyn, Gina, and PJ who are on the Subaru of Baton Rouge staff filled out adoption applications and are awaiting their new babies. As the day turned into evening, the sense of fulfillment and joy was palpable. Subaru of Baton Rouge had not only provided a fun and festive environment for families but had also helped these deserving dogs find their forever families. Kaci and Kenzie handed out 100 plates of Jambalaya to all who visited on adoption day. The event was a resounding success, and it was all thanks to the dedication and compassion of Subaru of Baton Rouge. Families went home with new furry friends, and Subaru, the wonderful host, had not only made car buyers but had helped create forever bonds of love and companionship. For all who attended, it was a day filled with laughter, joy, and the heartwarming knowledge that nine dogs had found their happy endings.

Share the Love® with Teachers!

Subaru of Baton Rouge sponsorship offered tokens of appreciation to over 100 Teach For America (TFA) teachers in the Greater Baton Rouge area during Teacher Appreciation Week. Daily gifts included a $25 gift card via GrubHub to enjoy a meal of their choice, a sweet treat at Sweet Society, a Wellness Wednesday class at Pure Barre, and a raffle to win a gift certificate to DIY Disco. Educators give of themselves and, oftentimes, out of their own paycheck to ensure students have the necessary tools to succeed. This sponsorship shared a big “Thank you” to TFA K-12 teachers as they closed out the school year. Miss. Jaelen, a TFA alum high school teacher, shared, “Thank you so much for gifting teachers with GrubHub funds to grab lunch this school year. The gift card came in handy as we were very busy planning the last few events of the school year while also continuing to teach and pack up our classrooms. This saved time and energy while ending the year on a great note. Thank you for your generosity.” Subaru of Baton Rouge’s sponsorship "shared the love" with teachers in our community by pouring back into them.

Katie At Baton Rouge is a Blessing

I hate buying cars. The salespeople are usually pushy and often dishonest. I usually talk my honey in doing all the leg work and all I have to do is go in and sign the paper work. On this occasion I decided it was time I put my big girl panties on and find the car of my dreams that would fit my budget. I did my homework and I decided on a Subaru. Before I went to the dealership I prayed for peace and a pleasant experience. Well, I live in Houston, Texas and I found my way to the perfect experience in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I called all the Subaru dealers in the Houston area and no one had a Crosstrek. I then started calling dealers in Louisiana. Thank the Lord, I was led to Katie Rivera. Katie was my salesperson and she was pleasant, kind, a good listener, respectful, and honest. If she did not know the answer to my questions she would tell me she did not know and then would go and find the answer. It was such a pleasant experience. My puppy was with me the day I bought the car. Katie and the other employees at the dealership were friendly and kind to my puppy. In fact Katie helped me get all the car friendly stuff I needed so Storm could ride safely. He loves riding in the car. When I need another car I will find Katie and buy a car from her. I hope she stays with Subaru because I love my car, but the customer service Katie gave to me that day was so outstanding I might have to consider another make. Let's hope not. I want to thank Katie for the excellent care I received and thank Subaru for having the foresight and good sense to hire Katie. Katie thank you for the awesome experience, your kindness has made me re-evaluate my opinions of car salespeople. .

Spreading Christmas Cheer

For a full week leading up to Christmas, dedicated space within the halls of Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is completely transformed into a shopping experience for patients and their families who must spend the holidays at the hospital. Named the "Sugar Plum Shoppe," this makeshift "Santa's Workshop" is made possible by community partners and volunteers that make it possible for parents of currently hospitalized patients to "shop"—free of charge—for gifts for their patient child and their siblings. Subaru of Baton Rouge and Fabre Automotive played a large role in this year's successful event by hosting a toy drive and gifting donations to the shop. Simply put, without their efforts and those of other community partners we would not be able to provide this experience for our patient families, adding yet another burden to an already stressful time for parents with hospitalized children. Our Lady of the Lake values the longstanding partnership with Subaru of Baton Rouge, Fabre Automotive and the truly giving Fabre family. We celebrate with them their investment and recognize our co-commitment to the mission of reaching and touching the lives of our patients and their families.

Gina, the best!

Gina was my saleswoman! She was in constant contact to keep me informed about everything. She was kind and sweet, almost like a daughter. I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me purchase my new Forester. She was happy for me when it came in. She wasn't just a saleswoman; she was real. So if you get Gina to help you, you will get a jewel! She is one of those precious people that I have added to my life. May God bless her for her kindness to me.

Bringing Light To The Darkness Of Cancer

Light The Night is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) largest community-wide fundraising campaign to raise awareness and critical funds for blood cancer research and patient assistance programs. The COVID-19 pandemic affected LLS as it did every other industry in the world, from staff and budget cuts to reorganization and more. Bringing our Light The Night walk back in person after a 3-year hiatus was no small feat, and we could not have accomplished this without our community partners like Subaru of Baton Rouge. Kaci and the crew at Subaru of Baton Rouge were eager to partner with us in every way. From supporting Our Lady Of The Lake Hospital’s cancer center through the Subaru Loves To Care program, to joining on as a new corporate sponsor for Light The Night 2022, we are truly grateful for their enthusiasm and incredible generosity. The engagement and excitement from our Light The Night participants were palpable this year knowing that we'd be celebrating in person again. We cannot thank Subaru of Baton Rouge enough for providing our patients, survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals with the opportunity to honor and remember loved ones amongst a supportive network and to participate in fun activities that “bring light to the darkness of cancer”. You are helping to improve the quality of life for our patients and their families!

Consider me a customer for life!

You can say it was love at first sight. When I walked into the Subaru of Baton Rouge showroom a week ago and saw my new 2022 Subaru Forester Touring in Horizon Blue Pearl waiting for me, beautifully detailed with a red bow on the hood, I knew this was finally the Subaru for me. Before the Forester, I had driven an Outback Limited and an Ascent Touring - both purchased at Subaru of Baton Rouge. To make a long story short, both vehicles were supposed to be blue but became gray due to a blinker glitch, a pre-delivery recall and supply chain issues. Regardless of color, both the Outback and the Ascent were wonderful vehicles. They just weren't blue. That's where Subaru's Love Promise comes in. Having driven vehicles by other Japanese automakers, I never felt a personal connection to a brand like I do with Subaru. Owning a Subaru is a lifestyle choice, and the company treats its customers like family. The Love Promise is all about "building lifelong relationships ... by providing customer service with integrity and compassion," in addition to loving the Earth, pets, learning, health and caring for others. I live this mission with Subaru every day when I walk out my front door and unlock my vehicle. Being a Subaru owner makes me an ambassador of the brand, and I am overjoyed when others ask me about my vehicle because that gives me a reason to share the Love Promise with them. Since joining the Subaru family two years ago, the entire staff at Subaru of Baton Rouge has become like family to me. The team there embodies the Love Promise and puts it on full display every day. Whether out in the community sponsoring local schools and pet adoption events ... or at the dealership making my dream of owning a blue Subaru come true, Subaru of Baton Rouge is spreading love to others. Perhaps most special about the team at Subaru of Baton Rouge is that all departments share in the Love Promise mission. From the friendly faces in service to Kerry, Brie, Clark and all product specialists to AJ in financing and Yvette, the dealership's re-delivery specialist, everyone there treats you like family the moment you walk through the door. This is a special camaraderie and the reason why I no longer consider any other options when purchasing a vehicle. I feel the love. Consider me a customer for life

New Ride on the Block

From the moment I decided it was time for a new vehicle, I knew my next ride had to be Subaru. I reached out to Subaru of Baton Rouge and Heather was glad to take my call! She booked me an appointment and had two vehicles ready to be test-driven within the same week! Heather set me up with Brie and she was AMAZING! From her sunny disposition and cheerful personality, I knew I was in the right place! She was very patient and talked me through my options. She answered every question (and there was a laundry list). She even helped me set up my first tune-up appointment and programmed my phone to my new car! Matt gave me the best estimate on my trade-in and Clark helped me out after having just replaced my alternator on my trade-in the week before. AJ made the signing process a breeze and hooked me up with an incredible extended warranty package! After purchasing the new 2023 Crosstrek Limited, Brie called to check in and make sure everything was running smoothly. Boy was it! She drives like a dream and is very user friendly. The leather seats and Harmon Kardon speakers makes this utility vehicle feel luxurious and top-notch. Sport mode is my favorite and I love utilizing all of the features. Overall, I love my new Subaru and I couldn't ask for better people to put me in this vehicle! The customer service went above and beyond and made car buying an enjoyable process, instead of a stressful one. Shoutout to Subaru of Baton Rouge for their incredible customer service and putting me in the freshest car on the Block! I'm glad to be part of the Subaru family!

I LOVE Subaru of Baton Rouge!

Subaru of Baton Rouge has been near and dear to my heart for years. First and foremost, the marketing efforts of Subaru locally make a difference here in the Baton Rouge community. I've known Kaci Melancon since 2018 and met her because of a community event called Clear the Shelters. Subaru, to date is a super supporter for this event and their involvement undoubtedly makes a difference in helping our furry friends find their FURR-EVER homes. That being said, I had an unexpected, out of the blue need for a new vehicle a few weeks ago. A few Fridays ago, I was on the way home from chaperoning a dance for son, my car died four times. It was 2017, I had not had any trouble and of course, almost paid off. As luck would have it, a few days later I was advised that my current car was just not safe to drive. Anything that would be done to it, would have just been a band aid; therefore, not reliable and dependable. I was panicked and emotional as I am a working single mom of three kiddos and my vehicle is my lifeline. In addition, I am in outside sales and my car is my office. I immediately reached out to Kaci at Subaru and explained my situation and urgency. KJ called me back within ten minutes and was sweet, calming and reassuring in a moment when it was desperately needed. I arrived at the dealership within an hour and literally they all just took me under their wings. Corey and Mr. Clark were also reassuring and comforting. Corey immediately had the car I was interested in (White Subaru Outback) ready for me to test drive. Mr. Clark was right there, too, every step of the way. I bought a 2020 White Outback and every single day I just can not wait to ride in my car! :) Subaru of Baton Rouge has amazing people that work there. Thank you Kaci, KJ, Corey, and Mr. Clark. You all were true angels to me! I'm a Subaru lover for life!

Happy repeat customers

My husband and I drove 110 miles to Subaru of Baton Rouge because we had been very pleased with our experience there in 2015 (Forester) and again in July for our 2022 Outback. The added bonus this time was getting to meet and deal with Kaitie Rivera, our sales consultant. She is a ray of sunshine as well as very knowledgeable, professional and super helpful. And just so very nice! Although we had never before custom ordered a car, Kaitie made the process quite easy with no pressure whatsoever. When we were deliberating about exterior and interior colors and lamenting that we couldn’t see our first choice colors in person, Kaitie knew that a dealership employee owned an Outback in the exact combination we were considering and took us out to the parking lot to see what it actually looked like. We loved it and ordered the new car that day. We have been very pleased with every aspect of buying our 2015 Forester and now 2022 Outback from Subaru of Baton Rouge. Repeat business goes to dealerships whose employees treat customers fairly, honestly and nicely. Subaru of Baton Rouge checks all the boxes. The trip to Baton Rouge is well worth it for us.

Saving My AC

I took my Subaru in to get serviced and was informed my AC condenser needed to be replaced. I was initially distraught because, as a graduate student, I did not have enough money to purchase the part and pay for the repair. But being in Louisiana just as summer was starting, I needed working AC. David Gaspard at Subaru Baton Rouge overheard my problem and offered to help me out. He agreed to purchase the replacement part which allowed me to only pay for the repair work. Thanks to him and the great krewe at Subaru Baton Rouge I now have super cold AC, just in time for the Louisiana summer heat!

A Great Buying Experience

In a world where buying a new car is a challenge, Subaru of Baton Rouge made it much easier. My sales person, Kaitie, was knowledgeable, responsive and friendly. She kept me updated on expected delivery and answered my questions every step of the way. When I took delivery, she spent a lot of time showing me how everything (and I mean everything!) worked. In the back office, the financial person, AJ, was fast and efficient at doing the paperwork. He explained the details very clearly. I especially appreciate the following things that are all too common elsewhere. There were no hidden fees/services added later. There was no high pressure upsell for options or extras. If I said “no thanks”, we moved on. There was no premium above MSRP (the only dealership I went to without one). I will recommend both the dealership and Kaitie to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle.

Third Times a Charm

Dear Subaru of Baton Rouge, There is an old adage that "the third time is the charm," but in my case, this is my third Subaru, and all three have been a charm! This is however, the first time I have had a computerized digital dash board that tells me everything I need to know about my Crosstrek, it's mechanical workings, the weather the temperature travel information, and even if I have left something on my backseat! It even tells me how many miles I can go before I need to refill. Katie was so personable, friendly, and helpful, Matthew was so patient with all my questions, and Yvette Blanchard came to my house not once, but twice to teach me what all the icons on the dashboard meant and how to use them! She was so patient and more than willing to explain multiple times the various functions to make driving more pleasurable as well as safe! She even brought her drill and put in my new license plate! Now THAT is service with a smile! I don't expect to outlive my third Subaru but if I do, and wayyyy in the distant future need another I so hope Katie, Matthew, and Yvette haven't retired!

Maiden Voyage Home

Bryan and I can’t exclaim enough about how very friendly, helpful and easy this process was over the weekend. We had lunch at Mason’s… the friendliest staff we can remember in a restaurant. Amazing people, great food. I haven’t seen Bryan happily leave a 25-30% tip in forever because of the service, and not just from the waitress we encountered but everyone. And I think a lot of this attitude was due to the genuinely friendly and helpful staff at Subaru. From Frank picking us up at the airport, you Clark, KJ and the gentleman repairing the cut on the steering wheel, all just an amazing experience. Thank you again!! We did make it home before midnight on Saturday, but We got a little off route on the way home. The following pictures show the adventures we had on our drive back to Dallas and how much the pups enjoy their bandanas and new car!

CAAWS and Subaru of Baton Rouge

Subaru of Baton Rouge has been a huge help to the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society in not only promoting our adoptable dogs each week, but attending our events and helping promote those as well. It was so great to have them come out to the CAAWS Mystic Krewe of Mutts parade this year after having a year off due to COVID. Subaru shows up, hands out swag to attendees, and does anything they can to help our organization. Subaru of Baton Rouge has been a delight to work with over the past few years!

Footprints Forever

Footprints Forever is an annual event held in Greater Baton Rouge, benefitting Maddie's Footprints. Maddie's Footprints is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides emotional and financial support to families coping with the loss of a child to miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. Our two annual events per year allow us to raise the funds necessary to continue deferring funeral costs for these families, but they also serve as a celebration for the children's lives. Footprints Forever, specifically, is nicknamed "a birthday party for the children who never got one" and is an extremely meaningful day for our families during their journey through grief. While sponsors are always appreciated, Subaru stood out to us as a sponsor due to the fact that their entire team showed up with bells and whistles on the day of. Every time we had to enter the Subaru Dealership, we were welcomed with smiles and reassurance of their employees for our event. It truly means the world to both us and our families to see large corporations, and the people who work for them, excited to help out with our mission. Thank you, Subaru, for allowing the opportunities for your employees to participate in events such as ours!

Giving Dogs a Second Chance

As a foster-based dog rescue, Second Chance Dog Rescue La relies heavily on the hospitality of local businesses like Subaru Baton Rouge to allow us the opportunity to present our adoptable pups to potential adopters at their locations. This is especially true since COVID restrictions have kept us from attending public gatherings for the past couple of years. Recently, we enjoyed the most exciting day at Subaru’s Grand Re-Opening event which was a very well-attended, fun and festive occasion for all. That kind of energy brought a lot of positive attention to the dogs in our program and for the attendees as well. The entire staff at Subaru Baton Rouge was friendly, helpful, and made us feel like a welcomed part of the celebration. When potential adopters have the ability to meet our dogs in person---to hold them, to walk them, to play with them, a bonding experience begins so this was an invaluable experience. We had two of our sweet pups adopted at the Grand Re-Opening Event. One pup, Rhett, had been in our program for a full year but had not been seen at a public event until then. The other, Suzie, a sweet little Maltipoo, was adopted by a repeat adopter who, as a faithful Second Chance Dog Rescue follower, attended because she knew we were there. We are so grateful to Subaru for their community outreach and support of animal rescue. We look forward to working with them again and again! Let’s just say we love Suba-roooooo!!!

Subaru Helped Kay Kay Find a Forever Home!

Kay Kay arrived at Companion Animal Alliance (CAA) in October 2021 severely matted and unable to see. After a much needed haircut and lots of love, Kay Kay found her forever home and is living happily ever after! CAA is grateful to Subaru for generously supporting our shelter's adoption efforts during the month of October, and throughout the year as they continue to find helpful ways to back our mission of saving more animal lives!

Subaru really does LOVE PETS!

Subaru has financially supported BREC's Trick n Treat, Art Unleashed for three years running and we are so thankful! With their help, this community event remains free to public and adds immense value to our four-legged community members. This event promotes and facilitates dog adoptions and nonprofit dog organizations and Baton Rouge just loves the dog costume contest. All this would not be possible without Subaru's support - they truly do love pets!

Subaru of Baton Rouge Loves Pets

CAAWS has enjoyed its community partnership with Subaru over the past five years, and realized just how much they care about us during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each year, CAAWS has its Mystic Krewe of Mutts parade in downtown Baton Rouge that thousands of people attend. It is our biggest fundraiser, and we were unable to have it in February 2021. Instead, we opted to have a virtual parade to give the community a chance to celebrate Mardi Gras with their pups and each other. We created a parade video showing a collage of video and photo submissions, which didn't have as many participants as we had hoped. However, Subaru stepped it up big time and had their own car parade at their dealership where employees made signs and threw beads, all in the name of supporting CAAWS. We are so thankful to have Subaru as a community partner because they truly care about our organization and the volunteers and animals in our shelter. Thank you, Subaru!

Share the Love - The Folds of Honor Foundation

We started The Patriot Shootout at The University Club 11 years ago. Our Title Sponsor has been David & John Fabre with Subaru of Baton Rouge. We hold a pre-event party at The L’auberge Casino the night before the event and host both a Silent and Live Auction. To date in the 11 years of the event, we have raised over 1.8 million dollars for The Folds of Honor. We have now funded 360 scholarships in Louisiana for critically wounded veterans, spouses, and their children. Over the past several years, Subaru through the Share the Love Christmas promotion has helped me raise significant dollars for Folds of Honor! We look forward to many great years in our partnership with Subaru of Baton Rouge!

Prairie Dog Park

Prairieville, La. – The Prairie Dogs, an Ascension Chamber Leadership Ascension team, are “working like dogs” to bring the Prairieville area its first ever dog park at Prairieville Park (38430 Highway 929, Prairieville, La. 70769). The development will be the first of its kind in the area and is slated for completion by Summer 2021. Ascension Chamber 2021 Leadership Ascension team, “The Prairie Dogs,” have partnered with Ascension Parish to build Prairieville’s first dog park at Prairieville Park. This two-acre lot would only be a dream if not for the generous donations from the community and surrounding businesses. All funds for the park were raised through a variety of resources, but it was the amazing community that ultimately stepped up to make this happen. Subaru of Baton Rouge reached out directly to sponsor the dog park through the business, making a donation of $1000 and offering to help in anyway possible. Opening day may still be undetermined, but we know that we can count on Subaru of Baton Rouge to be on site the day it does! They have made the commitment to be involved, had out dog toys, bring a car out to display, etc. Opening day of the park will be a day that will be remembered and we have Subaru to thank. Now if only they could bring those cute golden retrievers too! :)

Subaru Loves Outdoor Adventure!

I think we can all agree what a great partner Subaru is to have in our corner! As a long time sponsor of BREC's Outdoor Adventure, they always provide us with plenty of swag for giveaways and raffles and attend and promote many of our events! At our most recent Great Family Campout event, they provided families with these awesome insect repellent bracelets. Plus, they supplied us with raffles giveways--a constellation blanket, yoga mat, and thermos. To be entered in the raffle, kids had to visit each activity station. The parents loved it because not only did it keep the kids active it encouraged them to try new things! Subaru doesn't forget about our furry, four-legged family members either. At our Pets and Paddle event in partnership with CAAWS, they donated the cutest bandannas and Frisbees for the pups. For our Sidewalks to Single Tracks program, they provided reusuable water bottles and drawstring backpacks for the kids. The list goes on! and From our team to yours, we appreciate it all and look forward to working future events together!

CAAWS Loves Subaru

Ben Ledet and Kaci Melancon of Subaru of Baton Rouge always go above and beyond in supporting the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society, the first no-kill animal shelter in East Baton Rouge Parish (est. 1979). For the past few years, Subaru of BR has come to all of our major fundraisers (even the smaller ones), set up a tent, handed out swag, and brought a car to have on display. They also help us promote our fundraisers by promoting them on their own social media pages. Each Tuesday, they also post an adoptable CAAWS dog on their Facebook page, which we are so grateful for. We even had a dog adoption event at their dealership one year. Whenever we need swag to hand out, Kaci is sure to provide us with amazing Subaru giveaways, such as the Pet Adoption Kit, which comes with plenty of toys and items for people who have adopted their first pet from us. At our Krewe of Mutts Parade each year, they set up a photo booth and collect donations for us. Did we mention that they also bring TerraCycle boxes to our shelter, which we love, because we should all be about helping the environment! CAAWS loves Subaru and is so proud to have them as a community partner! Thank you, Subaru of Baton Rouge!!

Purina Sponsorship Package

Kaci Melanson and the rest of Subaru of Baton Rouge have went above and beyond to support Louisiana Warriors Unleashed which is a 501c3 NPO by becoming our 1st Purina Sponsors! That is our top sponsorship package that we offer! Subaru of Baton Rouge has made an effort to be at every event we had so far, to display the partnership we have and to promote Subaru’s love of animals throughout the community. We want to thank Kaci and Subaru of Baton Rouge for always being there for us when we need them! On top of the events they attended and helped promote, they also assisted us in a Flood Drive. They offered us their location as a drop off point for donations of dog supplies that was going out to the Houston Area during their last flooding! Their community outreach program is second to none! They go above and beyond for their communities and others as you seen in this post. My name is Jesse Walls and I’m just grateful to be partnering with such a wonderful organization! We are very grateful!

Subaru Loves to Care

On Thursday, June 28, 2018, I, Kacie Francois, had the pleasure and honor of representing the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in presenting Lafayette General Hospital’s infusion center with blankets sponsored by Subaru of Baton Rouge. Representatives from Subaru of Baton Rouge supplied eight boxes of beautiful plaid blankets to be handed out to patients in the infusion center. Also included was a box asking individuals to leave a message of hope for those battling cancer. As a former patient that has spent numerous hours in an infusion center I know the value of both a warm blanket and a message of hope. While we were not able to personally hand out the blankets to patients due to restrictions we are satisfied knowing the staff of Lafayette General appreciates the gift and will hand them to patients as needed. Thank you, Subaru, for including me in this great act of generosity and for standing behind your words…”Subaru Loves to Care”.

The Patriot Shootout for Folds of Honor

I helped start a golf event for The Folds of Honor Foundation along with a lot of help from John and David Fabre, owners of Subaru of Baton Rouge 7 years ago and our Title Sponsors for The Patriot Shootout. The Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships for Louisiana children and spouses of military men and women disabled or killed while serving our great nation! To date, we have raised over 1 million dollars that translates into approximately 200 scholarships. The Subaru "Share the Love" program during the Christmas holidays has helped us a great deal. I just wanted to thank both David and John for their support for The Folds of Honor!

Subaru Supports CAAWS

In the fall of 2017, Subaru of Baton Rouge contacted the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society asking how they could help our homeless cats and dogs. What started as Subaru posting pictures of our adoptable dogs on their Facebook page turned into a relationship where they attend all of our major fundraisers, help promote our events, and even donate to our organization. In January 2018, Subaru of Baton Rouge donated a percentage of their car sales to the CAAWS Heartworm Treatment Fund. This fund allows us to pull heartworm positive dogs from kill shelters, treat them, and get them adopted into loving homes. CAAWS is thankful to Ben Ledet and Kaci Melancon at Subaru of Baton Rouge for their generosity and truly caring hearts.

The Great Car Caper

What can I say? My first experience with Subaru of Baton Rouge started off with a bang. I decided to buy my mom a new car for Mother's Day/Birthday, and in her birthstone color. After finding the perfect automobile, I turned to see Missy (a saleswoman) walking up with the most welcoming smile. So,the plotting began. How do I get my mother's car without her noticing it? Missy agreed to ride with me to the house and snatch the car! As I snuck to the car port, Missy crouched down beside my car, beneath a crepe myrtle tree! Her plan was to run around to the back of the house, in case my mom came to the front door! I jumped in my mother's car and pulled up to the side of the house to retrieve Missy. Missy hopped in the car and we sped off like two gangsters! Mission accomplished! Ms. Jackson was very professional and accommodating. She was just as excited as I was to pull off the heist! Everyone was so kind. I truly enjoyed the experience. Missy was kind enough to follow me back to the "scene of the crime" and surprise my mom with her new Subaru Forester, complete with a red bow. I tricked my mom into coming outside, and the rest is history. Missy stayed and helped my mom get oriented to the car, and met my baby bird. The bird (a boy) then proceeded to flirt with Missy. After convincing him that she was married, Ms. Jackson laughed her way back to her car. It was freaking awesome! Thank you Subaru of Baton Rouge, and thank you Missy for everything! - Melet K.

Trick AND Treat Pawty

BREC Dog Parks held its Howl-o-ween costume pawty on October 21st at the Raising Cane's Dog Park at Forest Park Community Park. When we found out that Subaru may be interested in participating, we immediately reached out. Unfortunately, this was about 2 weeks before the event date. Caitlin and Subaru, said "no problem" and were an AMAZING addition to the event. They were at the event participating by handing out treats for both the kids dressed in costume AND the four legged dogs competing in the contest. We look forward to growing our relationship and bringing even better events to the people of EBR. Thank you Subaru! Jason H.-BREC Extreme Sports/Dog Parks

Why Love IS what makes a Subaru, a Subaru

My story begins back in SC where I bought my 2002 Outback from Prestige Subaru. I brought her home on Christmas Eve and was quite promptly told on the drive home that her name was Pearl. Yes, my girl Pearl and I went every where together and she became a wonderful geocaching companion!! As fate would have it, I wound up returning to Louisiana to live. One of my biggest concerns was where I was going to take Pearl. I finally called Subaru of BR for an oil change and had fun talking with Tracy in service. When Pearl and I got there, Aaron greeted us outside, held the door open for me to get out and to go in. I met Tab, he worked on Pearl, and Maria who is over parts. I truly felt I had found not just a great Subaru Dealer, but a new home. What I loved is that everyone always remembered Pearls name because I adore that car and had no plans of trading her in. But on Easter when we arrived home, a HUGE oak tree had fallen on top of her during a storm. I felt my heart had broken......and still do sometimes. There were power lines down and I couldn't get to my dear friend. I cried on and off all week. So, I called BR Subaru and spoke with Aaron. I went out there and we all looked at the pictures of Pearl. They were compassionate and supportive. I now drive a 2015 Outback that has more buttons than I know what to do with. If you have an older Subaru or a new one, let Subaru of BR become your new home. I'm glad I did because they have become like family :-).

sponsor

I would like to thank Subaru of BR for sponsoring me in the Jambalaya Festival cooking contest in Gonzales, LA this past weekend. It shows their support in past traditions. The traditions of the Festival are being kept alive by businesses like Subaru of BR showing their support of their customers and potential customers. Thanks again for sponsoring me and for keeping traditions alive.
